Computer Operator - Newcastle - Contract

My client an international client requires a Computer Operator to carry out the following. To provide quality, error-free computer operations assistance to clients and internal staff. To successfully complete regular scheduled operations procedures.
To meet personal and team key performance indi cators and ensure service provided is in accordance with the relevant Service Level Agreements. To assist with operations projects and ad hoc tasks when necessary, and to promote and maintain optimum client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- Using supplied monitoring tools, ensure timely and appropriate response to alerts raised on all monitored systems.
- Update Action Remedy regularly and accurately, and ensure data integrity.
- Assist in the organisation and management of tape changing, cycling and off siting.
- Give and receive internal training on operations specific tasks.
- Achieve personal and team KPI's.
- Ensure operator error-free processing of clients batch schedule.
- Respond accordingly to backup and processing errors.
- Follow any client specific procedure and return error-free results.
- Assist in the production of reports by providing correct data, and compiling when requested.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of data is maintained.
- Obtain and maintain awareness of customer specific security policies.
- Assist in exercising security control of the facility.
- Meet all service level agreement deadlines.
The essential experience required for this role is as below:
- Be prepared to work shifts covering a 24 hour x 7 day roster.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
- Sound customer service skills.
- Drivers licence and car to access multiple sites
- Experience within an IT operations or customer service environment.
- Problem diagnosis and trouble-shooting skills.
- Understanding of modern computing systems and processes.
- Good working knowledge of PC Office applications.
